First-year applicants who submit a completed application by our Early Action deadline of November 1 will receive priority consideration for admission, merit aid, and the W.A. Franke Honors College (if interested). They will also be among the first to receive an admissions decision on January 15.

Applications for first-year students received after November 1 will move to a regular decision timeline and be considered on a space-available basis. Regular decisions will begin being released after Early Action decisions.

We strongly encourage applicants to complete the 500-word application essay because it's the perfect chance to tell us more about yourself and why you want to be a Wildcat. Essay responses are mandatory for consideration for entry into the W.A. Franke Honors College.

When students apply for admission to the university, they have the option on their application to indicate their interest in honors. Additional application materials are required. For a detailed overview of the honors application requirements, please visit the Franke Honors College website.

No. SAT/ACT scores are not required for general admission to the university, tuition scholarship eligibility, or admission to our more selective programs such as the Franke Honors College. However, if a student chooses to submit official SAT/ACT scores, they may be used to clear course deficiencies or assist with class placement at orientation, or to help fulfill our Core Competency Requirements. Please note: To be considered, official test scores must be sent directly from the testing agency.

We encourage students to make a thoughtful selection of their major when they apply. However, if you have already submitted your application and have decided you would like to change your major of interest, please contact your recruiter for help.

When students apply to the University of Arizona, they will be considered for merit-based scholarships. To maximize your financial aid options, students are encouraged to submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form. Be sure to use the university’s school code: 001083.
