
Ruth Feshazion is a first-generation American. Her African war refugee parents instilled in her the importance of giving back as part of life’s journey. A UA peer advisor, she helped students stay in school. A health science major and Honors College student, she examined immigration policies and ways to make migrant farm workers more aware of their rights. This research won honors at the national Biomedical Research Conference for Minority Students. She also won the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce youth entrepreneurship competition. She graduates with one of the highest senior honors - the Robert Logan Nugent Medal. She plans to complete a health policy doctorate, then work to reduce disparities among minorities.
