2 Degrees, 3 Specialties, 4.0 GPA

Adeel Yang graduates with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, Bachelor of Science in Molecular and Cellular biology, minor in Arabic and a 4.0 GPA. Part of the UA Honor’s College, he’s researched health economics and investigated the molecular mechanism behind the most common form of inherited mental retardation. Graduating with one of the UA’s highest honors – the Merril P. Freeman Medal – he runs marathons, plays intramural football, basketball, soccer and volleyball and volunteers. He and other Mortar Board leaders created an annual community clean-up project, recruiting 600 participants. After medical school, he plans to focus on healthcare disparities in underserved populations – like those he observed growing up in Taiwan and traveling throughout Eastern Europe, Asia and Africa.
