Faculty Shared Governance:
- Shared Governance Memorandum of Understanding
The faculty and administration are committed to a common vision of the mission of the University.
- Faculty Senate
The legislative body responsible to the General Faculty of the University of Arizona. The Senate takes actions on behalf of the faculty with respect to functions identified in the Constitution and Bylaws.
Faculty Standing Committees:
- Academic Personnel Policy Committee
Charged with considering such matters as promotion and tenure, sabbatical and leave of absence policy and performance evaluation policy and procedures.
- Committee of Eleven
Initiates, promotes and stimulates study to solve problems of Faculty and University concern.
- Committee on Academic Freedom & Tenure
A faculty body whose principal obligation is the protection of academic freedom and tenure.
- Committee on Committees
Recommends members of the General Faculty for appointment or nomination to all committees of the General Faculty.
- Committee on Conciliation
Has jurisdiction to make inquiry and to meet and discuss any problem involving any member of the General Faculty in his or her relationship with the University.
- Constitution and Bylaws Committee
Responsible for proposing changes to the Constitution and Bylaws of the General Faculty.
- Elections Committee
Conducts elections for offices and committee memberships of the General Faculty and elections for Faculty Senators.
- Ethics and Commitment
Deals with questions of misconduct in research, scholarship, or creative endeavor; conflict of commitment; and facilities misuse.
- Executive Committee
Establishes the agenda for each meeting of the Faculty Senate.
- Faculty Membership
Interprets the provisions of Article II of the Constitution and Article I of its Bylaws and submits recommendations to the Faculty Senate for consideration and action.
- Grievance Clearinghouse Committee
Accepts faculty members’ written requests for grievance hearings and which shall advise which committee or process should consider a grievance.
- Instruction and Curriculum Policy Committee
Deals with policy matters related to curriculum and degrees, teaching effectiveness, Honors Program and Commencement.
- Research Policy Committee
Responsible for considering such matters as secrecy policy, research policy, research parks and interaction with industry.
- Senate Committee on Budget and Strategic Planning
Represents faculty interests and responsibilities at all stages of budget preparation, policy making and strategic planning.
- Strategic Planning & Budget Advisory Committee (SPBAC)
Represents faculty interests and responsibilities at all stages of budget preparation, policy making and strategic planning.
- Student Affairs Policy Committee
Deals with such matters as quality of student life, financial aid, the Code of Conduct, and the Code of Academic Integrity.

- Critical Incident Response Team
- Data Stewards Committee
Manages the institutional data in order to provide accurate and secure information.
- High Performance Computing Committee
Advises the Vice President for Research and Graduate studies on a variety of issues relating
to super computing.
- Information Security Advisory Board
Implements the recommendations of the Information Security Advisory Council, oversees the development of security and privacy policy and assists the UA Information Security Officer with resolving concerns and disputes.
- Network Managers
A campus-wide group of UA Network Managers.
- Security Operations
Tasked with protecting the University of Arizona network.
- UA Web Developers Group
Resources & information for developers of University websites.
