Reading labels at the grocery store can be overwhelming, especially when it comes to the slew of sugars that might pop up on the ingredients list. Do you really know the difference between sucrose, high fructose corn syrup, agave nectar and so on?

To help clear up some of the confusion, Mark Kern, a professor in the department of exercise and nutritional sciences at San Diego State University, will speak on campus next week about "The Sweet Truth: Unraveling the Myths and Mysteries of Fructose."
