Video: UA Departments Host Cook-Offs, Breakfasts, Raffles in the Name of Charity
The annual UA Cares employee giving campaign – an opportunity for employees to donate to charities and UA programs – is in full swing.
The effort got kicked off on Oct. 9 and since then campus units and departments have begun hosting their own UA Cares fundraisers to benefit their chosen charities, scholarships and endowment funds.
And that usually means plenty of good eats in the form of cook-offs, bake sales and pretty much anything else that might entice employees to contribute a few bucks for a cause.
The UA Libraries hosted a burrito breakfast on Friday to benefit the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona, and later that day the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry held a chili cook-off to benefit the CBC Graduate Student Scholarship Fund.
