Valdez Reflects on Two Decades at the UA
Joel Valdez will officially end his 20-year tenure at the University of Arizona on June 30. But just as he did things a little differently on the job, he will have a different kind of retirement – one that keeps him hard at work.
After a brief vacation, Valdez, who has managed campus finances and projects during some of the most turbulent financial times in UA history as senior vice president for business affairs, will head back to work part time in September. He will be employed by the UA Foundation and will serve as a special adviser to President Robert N. Shelton, offering guidance on the University's growth and development. read more »
