UA Parking Garages Offer Great Views of Fireworks

Get your lawn chairs and picnic coolers ready – the University of Arizona is preparing to once again open the top levels of four parking garages for folks affiliated with the UA and their family members to take in the sights and sounds of Independence Day in the Old Pueblo.

Assuming Tucson's "A" Mountain fireworks display isn't canceled due to dry weather conditions, the tops of the Tyndall, Main Gate, Park Avenue and Highland Avenue garages will be blocked off to vehicular traffic beginning at 6 p.m. July 4, according to Parking & Transportation Services.

Cars will be able to park on any other level within the garages.

Past years have included the top of the Sixth Street Garage as well, but this year it's closed off for ongoing maintenance and upgrades, said Bill Davidson, a PTS spokesman.
