Spring UA4Food Events Get Under Way

The faculty and staff food drive officially went into full swing Monday, with organizers hoping to collect more than 18,000 pounds of food this year.

The annual food collection boxes that appear on campus each spring during the busiest time for the UA4Food campaign are officially out and ready for donations for the Community Food Bank.

UA4Food encompasses food drives held on campus throughout the year, but it hits its peak in the spring with several programs and events. It's perfect timing for the food bank, which sees donations drop off steeply after the generosity that swirls around the winter holidays, said Holly Altman, director of outreach and community partnerships for the UA's Office of Community Relations, which coordinates UA4Food.
