Shelton: UA Could Consider Privatizing Some Units
The University of Arizona could explore the possibility of privatizing certain campus units as state support for higher education declines, President Robert N. Shelton told the Faculty Senate on Monday during a discussion about strategic realignment of the state's university system.
Questions about the potential for privatization arose after Shelton discussed with the senate a report, presented to the Arizona Board of Regents last month, that outlines ways in which the three state universities could better focus their missions to help strengthen the state university system as a whole. read more »
