Sell the Car, Catch the Bus ... Then Blog About It
Just as his daughters reached the age where they didn't need be driven to school, Simmons Buntin decided he didn't need to drive to work.
He still goes to his office in McClelland Hall. But he gets there by carpool and bus, not the Subaru Forester he was driving just a few months ago to make the 20- to 30-minute commute from his far-eastside home in the Civano community to campus.
The Forester is gone, along with the Honda Odyssey his wife drove to and from her job as a second-grade teacher. In their place is a 2003 Honda Accord, which has become the family's only car.
