Sander Farewell and Thank-You Event is Friday
The University community is invited to celebrate a year of service by the UA's 20th president, Eugene G. Sander, Friday afternoon in the Student Union Memorial Center.
The event is being billed as a "thank-you" party, but it's also a chance to say farewell to Sander – again.
"You can tell everybody I think this is the last time I think I'll be departing," he said in an interview.
Sander noted with some humor that "we had a very nice event when I retired as dean of ag (the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences)."
That was just a year ago.
