Raises, Race Equity Discussed at Faculty Senate
Finding money to increase salaries at the University continues to be a challenge, Provost Andrew Comrie told members of the Faculty Senate on Monday.
The issue of compensation was raised by Wanda Howell, chair of the faculty and University Distinguished Professor of Nutritional Sciences, during a question-and-answer period that followed Comrie's monthly report.
"We were talking last spring that it might be time to really consider a compensation policy and something related to that concept – that we could actually count on some sort of increased compensation on a semi-routine basis," she said. "Is that ever going to be possible for us? And are we ever going to get a raise?"
