Professors Discuss Civility, Importance of Non-Faculty Voices
As the conversation about civil discourse continues on a national scale, one University of Arizona professor recently reminded colleagues that Mom's words of wisdom are often the best guidelines for how to be civil.
Quoting old adages like "you can attract more flies with honey than with vinegar" and "count to 10 before you reply," physiology professor Patricia Hoyer was one of four UA faculty members to participate in last week's panel discussion on "Civil Discourse in a Conflicted Community," part of the University's "Week of Civility."
