Poetry Center Serves the Rhythm of the Written Word for Lunch
Inspired by the lunchtime creations of contemporary poet Frank O'Hara, the Poetry Center is offering a midday writing class designed to motivate the dedicated employees and aspiring poets of the University of Arizona campus.
"Lunch Poems" will be offered through the Poetry Center on Fridays from 12:15 p.m. to 1 p.m. from Jan. 27 through March 9.
Registration is $65 and is required. Scholarships are available.
The title of the class comes from a book of the same name written by O'Hara, published in 1964. O'Hara titled the collection "Lunch Poems" because many of the poems were written during his lunch breaks from his job as a curator at New York's Museum of Modern Art.
