Mind-Bending Magic Topic of Campus Lecture

Anyone who's ever been awed by an illusion, stumped by a magic trick or perplexed by one of those maddening "Magic Eye" posters will want to check out a lecture being held on campus on Thursday that delves into what magic tells us about the way the brain works.

The talk, titled "Sleights of Mind: What the Neuroscience of Magic Reveals About Our Brains," will be given by husband-and-wife wife team Steven Macknik and Susana Martinez-Conde of the Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix. It is the first in what is intended to be a biannual Public Distinguished Lecture program, hosted by the School of Mind, Brain and Behavior at the University of Arizona.
