LQP Asks: Are you looking forward to the completion of the Sun Link Modern Streetcar?
It has been a long and dusty summer, full of roadblocks, sidewalk detours and lane closures on and around campus as Tucson makes way for the Sun Link Modern Streetcar. The 3.9-mile route is Southern Arizona's largest transportation project to date, and it is expected to create 1,490 long-term jobs – in addition to about 500 construction jobs – as it connects the University of Arizona with downtown and 150 retail businesses, 100 restaurants, seven theaters, new student apartments and hundreds of professional services. Some people can't wait to ride it. Others can't wait until the streets and sidewalks go back to normal.
