It's Official: UAConnect Moving From 'Cloud' to Campus Servers
University Information Technology Services and a subcommittee of campus IT managers announced Monday that the UAConnect employee email and calendaring system will move back to on-campus servers.
The change will enable all employees to use all of the features offered through the new system, such as instant messaging and sharing calendars between users, that had been impossible or difficult to use before because of widespread compatibility issues.
The move follows several unsuccessful attempts to migrate all campus accounts to the off-site – or "cloud" – system and months of collaborative consideration and investigation by UITS and the campus IT community.
