Insurance Waiting Periods, Higher Retirement Contributions Start This Month
Beginning this month, University of Arizona employees enrolled in the Arizona State Retirement System can expect to see a larger chunk of their paychecks going toward retirement. At the same time, new University employees will have to wait longer before they can contribute to the state retirement plan or receive health benefits.
Increased retirement contribution rates and new waiting periods for employee benefits are just two of a series of changes mandated by the Arizona Legislature in the wake of continuing state budget challenges.
