Inaugural UA Food Fest Offers Free Movie, Food Demos, Picnic and More
The University is throwing a party in celebration of food.
What started as a plan to show a thought-provoking nutrition documentary, followed a few days later by a panel discussion on food issues, has grown into a full-blown festival exploring multiple aspects of health and wellness on campus.
As a result, "Forks Over Knives," which was screened at The Loft Cinema in July and August, will kick off a week of food-related events for the first-ever UA Food Fest. It will be screened for free at Gallagher Theater at 6 p.m. Oct. 18, and a "Killer Food Controversies" panel discussion will take place a few days later, at 12:15 p.m. Oct. 24, Food Day, also at Gallagher.
