Final 2011 Paychecks Coming a Week Early

After this week's regularly scheduled payday, Dec. 16, employees are due one more 2011 paycheck.

Normally that would be disbursed two weeks later, on Dec. 30, but because that day falls during the winter closure, the money is being paid out a week early, on Dec. 23.

That means time sheets for the next pay period are actually due this week in UAccess.

And employees should remember, when they receive those early funds, that they will not be paid again until Jan. 13, so it's a good idea not to treat the money as extra holiday shopping cash unless they've budgeted for it that way.

That doesn't mean the early check isn't a gift – of sorts. Because it's the third paycheck issued this month, some deductions won't be taken out, making it bigger than usual.  read more »
