Employee Governance Groups Plan for Transitional Year
With the departure of University of Arizona President Robert Shelton, the three main employee governance groups on campus – the Staff Advisory Council, the Appointed Professionals Advisory Council and the Faculty Senate – anticipate a year of change as they each focus on their own agendas.
Some changes are already evident, as with UA President Eugene Sander’s cabinet inclusion of SAC President Angie Gomez, grants administrator for engineering proposal services in the College of Engineering, and APAC Chairman Ronald Wysocki, assistant staff scientist at the chemical synthesis facility in the College of Science.
Others are yet to come, such as a bevy of hard decisions Chair of the Faculty Wanda Howell, University Distinguished Professor of nutritional sciences, says her constituents need to make.
