Dedication to an Academic Groundbreaker

As Elizabeth Lapovsky Kennedy, a longtime University of Arizona faculty member and major founding figure in women's studies, prepares for retirement, her colleagues and friends have banded together to fund an endowment in her name.

Kennedy, former head of the UA department of gender and women's studies, founded one of the first women's studies departments in 1971 at the State University of New York, Buffalo.
