Changes Planned for Administrator Performance Review Process
The University is revising the process for administrative performance reviews, in part to reduce the amount of time it takes to conduct them, Associate Provost for Faculty Affairs Tom Miller told the Faculty Senate Monday.
The changes apply to annual and five-year performance reviews for department heads, directors, deans, vice presidents and other administrators.
For five-year reviews, a set of "administrative competencies" – skills in leadership, partnership, management, capacity-building and innovation – would be used to clarify expectations and standardize the review process.
Additionally, annual reviews would be revised to include input from faculty and staff.
