Budget, Promotion and Tenure Discussed at Faculty Senate

The University of Arizona's plan for dealing with an upcoming $78 million budget cut from the state will need to be revised because of a tuition rebate that will reduce the expected amount of tuition dollars coming into the University, President Robert N. Shelton told members of the Faculty Senate on Monday.

The Arizona Board of Regents approved last month the UA's tuition recommendations, which increased annual base tuition for resident students by $1,500, to $9,114 for undergraduates and $9,904 for graduate students; increased base tuition for out-of-state students by $600, to $24,573 for undergraduates and $24,866 for graduate students; and increased UA South tuition by $1,200, to $7,443 for undergraduates and $9,604 for graduates.  read more »
