Better Than Ever Holding Annual Kickoff Tomorrow
When Lynn Frazier signed up for a competitive Labor Day run 10 years ago, she thought she was registering for a fun walk and was surprised to find herself in a competitive race.
She was touched by the way people rooted for her at the finish line.
Today, she uses the experience in her capacity as a team leader for Better Than Ever, a fitness program that trains people while raising money for cancer research.
The group was founded in 2000 by Heather Alberts, wife of physician and Arizona Cancer Center Director David Alberts.
That first year, 45 people participated, and the second year – the same year in which former UA basketball Coach Lute Olson's wife, Bobbi, died of cancer – there were 4,500 people. read more »
