Behind the Scenes of the State of the University Address

When President Robert N. Shelton takes the podium Thursday for his State of the University address, it will be an event more than a year in the making, involving a host of University employees working behind the scenes to make sure it goes smoothly.

Doors will open for the State of the University Luncheon in the Student Union Memorial Center's Grand Ballroom at 11:30 a.m., with food being served at noon. Shelton's speech – which is expected to cover a range of topics, including UA budget challenges, this week's election and the importance of research to the University's mission – is scheduled to begin at 12:30 p.m. Those unable to attend can watch the event live on the Arizona Public Media website.
