The Office of Federal Relations is the UA's liaison between the UA and the federal government. This unit coordinates UA's participation in the appropriations process and UA's relationships with Members of Congress and the Executive Branch agencies.
Provides programs of environmental protection, occupational health and safety and insurance coverage for property, liability and workers' compensation.
Assists faculty in matters related to intellectual property, including interactions with commercial partners, and brings inventions and discoveries developed within the University to market for the public good.
Requires employees to disclose outside obligations, financial interests, or other employment that could affect the objectivity of their decisions related to UA business transactions and research activity.
Carries out the institutional policy for safeguarding the rights and welfare of human subjects involved in research and other activities in conformance with federal regulations.
The University of Arizona Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) oversees the university's animal care and use programs, facilities and procedures ensuring the appropriate care, use and humane treatment of animals being used for research, testing and teaching.
Assists students, faculty, staff, department heads, directors and deans with maintaining the highest ethical standards related to research and creative activities.
