Diversity Coalition Communications Group
The Diversity Coalition – Communications Group (DC-CG) functions as a communications conduit between the President, diverse constituency groups, and the broader campus community to ensure that the UA is an accessible academic community that supports the full participation of all those who learn and work here.
By engaging in the activities below members of the DC-CG help the President maintain a “pulse” of current campus climate. The President uses this assessment to assist him in his diversity initiatives to improve climate; and The President also shares with DC-CG members his vision for campus inclusion and areas of progress and needed work.
Primary Activities:
- Help the President maintain a “pulse” of current campus climate by sharing the perceptions and issues of campus constituencies.
- Provide the President recommendations to further diversity and inclusion at the University.
- Actively communicate key information shared in DC-CG meetings back to stakeholders.
Additional Activities:
- Learn about the work of other diversity organizations and create collaborations to advance mutual goals as efficiently as possible.
- Increase campus community members’ awareness of diversity as an asset within the educational environment.
- Help campus community members acknowledge and celebrate diversity successes.
- Develop multiple methods of communicating with multiple constituencies.
