Political science is the study of government, public policy, and the political behavior of individuals and groups. Political science uses humanistic and scientific perspectives to examine relationships among societies and nations in all countries and regions of the world. The major introduces students to concepts in politics, policy issues, and the structure of governments. Students interested in law, civil service, or foreign service should consult a department advisor regarding an appropriate course of study. A teaching major is also offered, leading to certification to teach in Arizona public schools.
