The degree leads to certification for teaching in Arizona secondary and career and technical programs. Majors study the functions of family and consumer sciences educators, program development, and educational techniques. The student teaching portion of the major is administered with the College of Education. Students apply for admission after completing 56 units of lower-division course work. Freshmen should consult an advisor in the Norton School of Family and Consumer Sciences to be sure they complete all prerequisites for admission.
