This major is designed for artists who plan to teach. In addition to studio art and design courses, majors study methods and concepts of teaching art. Incoming students are admitted into the BA program. After completing foundation courses, students may apply to move into the BFA program. A portfolio of their work and a research paper are part of the process. Students must also be admitted to the College of Education for upper-dividion course work. Graduates qualify for the K-12 art specialist endorsement on an Arizona secondary teaching certificate.
