Electrical engineers design, develop, test and supervise the manufacture of electrical and electronic equipment. They work with integrated circuits, power generating equipment, and automotive/aircraft electrical systems. They develop systems for information processing, design new products, and solve operating problems. The program emphasizes basic scientific knowledge, design procedures, computing skills, and lab techniques for design verification.

High School Preparation:

• Entrance Requirements
• 1/2 unit trigonometry required; one year physics, calculus and chemistry recommended

Major Requirements:

major requires math beyond basic calculus

major requires upper-division lab sciences

Careers:

• designing and developing communications systems circuit design design and development of digital control systems aerospace, automotive, semi-conductor and telecommunication industries medical, government and financial fields

• advanced math, physics and computer science
• extensive work in systems analysis, including communications, control and signal processing systems

• fundamentals of circuit design
