Operations Management, The University of Arizona

The field originated in manufacturing (where it is called production management) and deals with the management of productive activities. In manufacturing, the creation of physical products is the primary focus; in recent years, the concepts and techniques of operations management have been increasingly applied to the creation of services, extending to most types of productive systems.

High School Preparation:

Entrance Requirements
English, Algebra I and II, plane geometry required
It is recommended that math be taken throughout all four years of high school advancing through pre-calculus or calculus.

Major Requirements:

Major requires math beyond general education requirements, but not beyond basic calculus; includes Business Math 1, Business Math 2 and statistics. Transfer students (other than those at Pima Community College) should take one semester of brief calculus AND one semester of finite mathematics.
