Animal scientists study the breeding, production, marketing, and use of animals in agriculture, entertainment, and companionship. Students learn the biological processes involved in genetics, nutrition, and reproduction as well as the business aspects of racing and livestock management. Specializations include animal industry, science and pre-professional training, or race track industry.
major requires math beyond general education requirements, but not beyond basic calculus; includes statistics, trigonometry, finite math, calculus or some combination of these courses.
