Agricultural Economics and Management

If you have a head for numbers but dread the standard 9-5 office routine, you may want to consider an agribusiness career. The Agricultural Economics and Management program puts students in touch with the world's most critical resources, such as land, people, food, and water. The program provides options to focus on either business management or agricultural economics -- preparing undergraduates for exciting careers in the United States or abroad.

Agribusiness Management Option
The Agribusiness Management Option prepares you for an exciting career in business management. This path of study integrates core courses in business administration and agricultural economics. In this option you complete the same core courses required of all business students. These include accounting, finance, personnel management, marketing and price analysis, and agribusiness management. Emphasis is given to communication and analytical skills which will prepare you for a successful business career in the U.S. or abroad.

Agricultural Economics Option
You may be uncertain about your academic or career interests. But you know that you have a broad interest in public policies surrounding agriculture, natural resource management, environmental protection or economic policy. Then the Agricultural Economics Option is for you. This path of study provides you the flexibility to explore courses in biological sciences, business, renewable resources and other areas. You will take the same core courses required of other students, but you can work with your advisor to customize this option to meet your interests. Some students in this program have proceeded to law school and advanced training in agricultural economics.
