Old Main

Old Main, constructed in 1891, was the original University Building. Designed in a style often referred to as 'territorial hybrid', the building was sunk six feet below the surface so the ground would help minimize the effects of the warm Tucson summers. The Dean of Students and Career Services are located in Old Main. The patio and porch areas are a popular gathering place to enjoy lunch and watch mall activities.
