The Binational Migration Institute's (BMI) interdisciplinary focus has been shaped by the unavoidable issues in our own backyard, especially the ways in which immigration policies and practices impact the lives of hundreds-of-thousands of migrants and Arizona residents.

Established in 2009 under the College of Engineering, Biomedical Engineering reflects a UA tradition of interdisciplinary research at the intersection of medicine, science, and engineering.

The Biomedical Engineering Program offers an M.S. and Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering and is a discipline that integrates the engineering sciences with biology and medicine.

Just north of Tucson on Oracle Road/Highway 77, explore a “world under glass.” Biosphere 2 contains a living rainforest, ocean, and four other biomes in a 3.14-acre laboratory. Tours take you inside this engineering marvel where construction and experiments on the Landscape Earth Observatory have begun.
