The Department of East Asian Studies is dedicated to the study of the civilizations and culture of China and Japan in all their diversity. The rich cultural heritages of the region are covered by courses in literature, history, religion and thought, linguistics and language, and other aspects of culture. EAS offers programs leading to the Bachelor of Arts (BA), Master of Arts (MA), and the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degrees with a major in East Asian Studies. EAS also offers courses in Chinese and Japanese language.
